Five technical commissions corresponding to our strategic priorities – business policy, technology, sustainability, qualified personnel, design – form the organisational foundation of Swiss Textiles. This is where the entire specialised know-how and experience of the textiles industry is united. Participation in the five technical commissions is open to all members of Swiss Textiles.

The activities of the technical commissions include formulating political standpoints, conceiving and initiating projects and events, managing the sector network and maintaining contacts with players in the industry who are of relevance in terms of achieving the objectives of Strategy 2025. These commissions may set up temporary workgroups in order to address specific issues in greater depth.

Each technical commission is chaired by a member of the Federation Board. The staff of the Administrative Office are responsible for managing the implementation of measures discussed and initiated by each commission.

The activities of each technical commission are described in detail in the Commission Regulations (document only in german) of 21 January 2021.

WHAT TO EXPECT AS A COMMISSION MEMBER

The amount of work time spent by a participant in a commission varies according to the topic and measures that are discussed and initiated in the commission concerned. As a rule, roughly one half-day per quarter should be anticipated. The activities of the technical commissions are carried out on the basis of a modern and efficient work method. Alongside the use of digital tools, we place a great deal of value on the management of the network within each technical commission. To put it in a nutshell, participating in a technical commission entails a mix of virtual and physical cooperation with other specialists from the textiles industry.

The technical commissions will be ready to commence work by mid-March 2021.

The sign in formula is only avaliable in German.
