(CONNECT) The new Formidable collection by Fischbacher 1819 marks "a pivotal moment in high-quality textile design", as the company states. In conceiving this collection, the textile creator from St.Gallen focused not on precision, but rather on the opposite with “a free-spirited, imaginative artistic style to convey a sense of energy and optimism”.

It was inspired by the 2024 Venice Art Biennale, where a diverse cross-section of textile art was on display. According to the company, all pieces were “united by an artistic and expressive language that was simple and unpretentious”. Fischbacher 1819 says it embraced this spirit and translated it into a textile collection that “dissolves the boundaries between art, design and everyday life and places the tactile beauty of textiles at the center of modern interiors”.

All textiles in the Formidable collection are made from recycled materials, such as 100 percent polyester made from used PET bottles. The company said this combination of durability and ecological responsibility was a key aspect in the development of the collection.

“With Formidable, we want to inspire and encourage people to celebrate the beauty of imperfection and the power of simplicity,” explained Creative Director Camilla D. Fischbacher. This is “something that is increasingly lost in our digital world”. ce/mm
