General Terms and Conditions

(Please scroll down for the job platform)

SWISS Pavilion at Techtextil 2026

1. Scope of application

The General Terms and Conditions (GTC) apply to all contracts concluded between Swiss Textiles and exhibitors within the framework of the Techtextil trade fair. The currently valid GTC form an integral part of the contract.

2. Offer and conclusion of contract

Participation in the fair requires a written registration to be submitted to Swiss Textiles by the registration deadline specified in the participation documents. Timely registration does not guarantee allocation of the desired booth location.

Late registrations can only be considered if possible; there is no entitlement to this.

The contract is only concluded upon written confirmation by Swiss Textiles.

3. Terms of payment

The costs for participation become due upon conclusion of the contract (written confirmation by Swiss Textiles).

The terms of payment are as follows:

Swiss Textiles will issue an initial invoice for half of the participation fee three months before the start of the exhibition. This amount is payable within 30 days of invoicing and in any case before the fair begins.

The second half of the participation fee, along with any charges for additional services, will be invoiced after the fair and is also due within 30 days.

Penalty Clause: If the exhibitor is in default of payment, Swiss Textiles may withdraw from the contract with immediate effect and will notify the exhibitor in writing. In this case, the registration fee and the entire agreed participation fee are payable as a contractual penalty.

4. Delivery / Changes / Delays / Withdrawal
If an exhibitor cancels participation or reduces the originally agreed booth space after contract conclusion, the full participation fee remains payable – subject to the following reductions:

Written withdrawals are only valid if submitted in writing.
Reductions granted in case of early written withdrawal:

  • Up to 9 months before the exhibition: 75% reduction
  • Up to 6 months before the exhibition: 50% reduction
  • Up to 3 months before the exhibition: 25% reduction

For cancellations less than 3 months before the exhibition, the full participation fee is due.

5. Services provided by Swiss Textiles
By organizing the event, Swiss Textiles commits to providing optimal conditions for exhibitor participation. The basic services included in the participation fee cover:

  • Shared and individual booth space, booth construction under the “Switzerland” umbrella brand design
  • Booth with side walls, company logo signage, carpet, basic lighting, power connection, shared cloakroom and storage (limited)

  • Extra furniture or technical connections (in addition to power supply)
  • Travel and accommodation costs
  • Alcoholic beverages

6. Obligations of the exhibitor
Exhibitors must comply with all rules and regulations set by the trade fair management. Swiss Textiles’ project manager holds the domiciliary rights.

Both design and operation must align with the overall presentation. Exhibitors must follow all instructions from Swiss Textiles or the fair management.

Exhibitors are required to complete booth construction before the fair opens.

All demonstrations or special activities require prior written approval from Swiss Textiles. Visual and acoustic disturbances or obstructions to neighboring booths or walkways are not permitted.

It is the exhibitor’s responsibility to arrange liability, accident, health, property, and repatriation insurance.

7. Warranty and liability
Swiss Textiles is not liable for delayed arrival, theft, or damage to exhibits and effects, force majeure, or confiscation by authorities.

Swiss Textiles excludes liability for damages resulting from the exhibitor’s breach of contract.

If the fair or the Swiss Pavilion cannot take place due to unforeseen compelling reasons, Swiss Textiles bears no responsibility. Costs incurred up to that point for basic services will be proportionally charged to registered exhibitors.

Swiss Textiles is not liable for any consequences arising from booth location or surrounding area.

Swiss Textiles is not liable for consequential damages or lost profits.

8. Amendments to the General Terms and Conditions GTC
Swiss Textiles may unilaterally amend these GTC at any time. The current version shall apply.

9. Applicable law and jurisdiction
Swiss law is applicable, and the place of jurisdiction is Zurich, Switzerland.

Terms and conditions

1. Scope of application

These General Terms and Conditions apply to all contracts that are concluded within the framework of the “Kontext” event series. The events concerned are “Kontext View” and “Annual Kontext Event”.

1.1 Kontext View
An annual subscription is required for attending “Kontext View” events, which are held twice a year (in June and December). With a Kontext View subscription, a maximum of three persons per company are entitled to attend each event (this also applies to holding structures). A fee applies for any additional persons. Single admission to events is available for private individuals and small businesses. The admission price includes receipt of presentations in digital form.

1.2 Annual Kontext Event
Separate bookings have to be made for each Annual Kontext Event, and are not included in the annual subscription for Kontext View.

2. Conclusion of contract

2.1. All contracts must be concluded in writing (e-mail is a permissible form). Registration for Kontext View and Annual Kontext Event has to be made online in advance.
2.2. Contracts shall only enter into effect after the invoice has been paid and they have been confirmed by Swiss Textiles.

3. Guarantee of organisation of events

3.1. Swiss Textiles guarantees the organisation of all events governed by these General Terms and Conditions.
3.2 If an event has to be cancelled by the organiser, registered participants shall be entitled to attend an equivalent substitute event.
3.3. If an event that has already been initiated should be aborted, it will only be repeated if its discontinuation occurs before half its scheduled duration has been attained. Participants will be informed in good time about the organisation of the substitute event.

4. Pricing

4.1. The current prices listed on the website of Swiss Textiles (www.swisstextiles.ch) shall form an integral part of these General Terms and Conditions.
4.2 Students attending Swiss universities, colleges of technology and other further education institutions will be granted a discount on the admission price for the Annual Kontext Event upon presentation of the corresponding enrolment certificate.
4.3. Swiss Textiles reserves the right to unilaterally change prices. Subscribers will be notified in good time (though by not later than 31 August) about any applicable price increases.

5. Termination, cancellation

5.1. Kontext View
Subscriptions to Kontext View may be terminated in writing as of the end of a year upon observance of a period of notice of three months. If a subscription has not been terminated, it will be automatically renewed for a further year.

5.2. Annual Kontext Event
The following conditions apply with respect to refunds in the event of the cancellation of a registration: If a cancellation is made earlier than 48 hours before the event: full refund by the organiser.

If a cancellation is made later than 48 hours before the event: no refund by the organiser, except in the case of sickness or accident, in which case a corresponding medical certificate must be provided.

6. Terms of payment

6.1. Kontext View
The applicable subscription price shall become due upon written registration for a Kontext View subscription. Swiss Textiles then issues an invoice, payment of which must be made prior to the first event and within 30 days from the date of the invoice.

6.2 Annual Kontext Event
The applicable price for admission to the Annual Kontext Event shall become due upon written registration for the event. Swiss Textiles then issues an invoice which is payable within 30 days from the date of the invoice, though in any case prior to attendance at the event.

7. Limit of liability

Swiss Textiles is not liable for the content of publications or the content of events.

For damages or losses of any kind incurred by a participant, Swiss Textiles may only be held liable in the event of gross negligence or intentional violation of a contractual obligation by its representatives or support personnel. Swiss Textiles cannot be held liable for consequential damages and lost profits.

8. Audio / visual recordings

For copyright reasons, and in accordance with the protection of personal rights, participants at events are not permitted to make audio and/or visual recordings. Violations may result in compensation claims.

9. Amendments to these General Terms and Conditions

Swiss Textiles may unilaterally amend these General Terms and Conditions at any time.

10. Invalidity

Should any clauses in these General Terms and Conditions prove to be invalid, the other provisions shall in no way be affected.
