(CONNECT) MEMBRYX GmbH will in future be under the majority ownership of Getzner Textil. The textiles group from Bludenz in Austria has reportedly increased its stake in the St.Gallen-based specialist for protective textile coatings and functional surface materials from 30 percent to 70.5 percent, as MEMBRYX writes in a statement. The remaining 29.5 percent continues to be held by the current MEMBRYX managing directors, Annette and Rick van Es, who will also remain in charge of the company under the aegis of Getzner Textil.

“By acquiring this majority stake in MEMBRYX, we are strengthening our capabilities in the area of high-performance protective textiles and are expanding our portfolio with the addition of innovative membrane and textile technologies”, comments Hannes Tschofen, CTO of Getzner Textil, in the statement. For him, MEMBRYX products stand out on account of their protective function, comfort, durability and sustainability. “Together, we plan to further develop these technologies in targeted fashion and unlock new market potentials”, Tschofen adds.

MEMBRYX GmbH from Gommiswald in the Swiss canton of St.Gallen was founded in 2023 under the name Phantomleaf Textiles GmbH. With its new name, adopted in the wake of Getzner Textil acquiring a majority stake, the company is seeking to emphasize its technological focus. “In Getzner Textil, we have a partner by our side that shares our vision for innovative protective textiles”, as Annette and Rick van Es explain in the statement, adding that: “The majority stake enables us to accelerate the further development of our technologies and tap into new markets while preserving our corporate identity”. ce/hs
