Winterthur/Ludhiana - Vardhman has ordered more than 2,000 Autoconer X6 drumless winding units from Rieter. With this deal, the internationally active Indian textile and yarn manufacturer is seeking to further automate its production processes.

Rieter will deliver more than 2,000 Autoconer X6 drumless winding units to Vardhman in Ludhiana in the Indian state of Punjab. The Indian textile manufacturer and cotton yarn exporter is continually investing in its operations in order to “improve their overall efficiency and product quality, and to reduce utility costs”, according to a press release issued by Rieter. The winding machines developed by the Winterthur-based textile machinery manufacturer should serve to enhance the degree of automation at Vardhman without compromising on production quality. No details were disclosed in the press release regarding the financial scope of this major contract.

Rieter specializes in smart automation solutions for the textiles industry. The globally active company has a portfolio that also includes software solutions to improve process workflows. In terms of the major contract from Vardhman, the Indian company is “one of the first customers to benefit from combining the SPID data of the intelligent Autoconer X6, type V link version with an external quality and ring spindle monitoring system”, as Rieter explains in the press release. For the Indian textiles manufacturer, the investment in Rieter solutions is connected to its efforts aimed at improving quality, production output, operator guidance and mill monitoring. ce/hs
