What you need to bear in mind for your EU imports in future
Anyone selling to the EU will need to comply with new import rules next year. From 1 March 2027, the requirements will change and existing exemptions will no longer apply.
To help our members navigate the new EU regulations, they need to know where to find the list of rules and which goods are subject to different rules. Swiss Textiles will be supporting them with a one-hour webinar on 9 December. Market access expert Björn Von der Crone will guide participants through the key changes and answer questions.
What’s new for the textile and clothing sector
In future, companies must record both the non-preferential and any preferential rules of origin for goods. Where preferential rules of origin applied, this step was not previously required.
Whilst the EU’s rules of origin generally refer to the last substantial, economically justified working or processing, the textile and clothing sector is often subject to specific list-based rules that define origin.
Swiss Textiles keeps track of developments for you and summarises the key points in an easy-to-understand way. Register now to ensure you are fully prepared.
