EU Packaging Regulation: What does this mean for me?
Anyone supplying goods from Switzerland to the EU has had to grapple with tricky questions since 12 August. For example: Am I now the producer of my packaging and, at the same time, considered a manufacturer? Or is my customer in the EU perhaps responsible for disposal?
The new EU Packaging Regulation imposes far-reaching EPR obligations for packaged consignments sent to business customers. With this regulation, the EU aims to reduce waste volumes and boost recycling.
Get clarity in the webinar
In a one-hour webinar on 8 October, Swiss Textiles, together with compliance experts from BDO, will shed light on the packaging jungle.
The focus will be on the key obligations and roles, the definition of the final recipient and why this is relevant, as well as the required number of EPR authorised representatives in the EU Member States.
Unfortunate approach by the European Commission
The current chaos is also down to the EU Commission’s approach: instead of providing clarity, it has caused confusion with its Q&As published at short notice. And this on topics that are already complex, such as questions regarding documentation requirements and the allocation of roles.
Let’s tackle this together – register now!
