GNL Footwear and the Swiss Open Gstaad have entered into a partnership. The Zurich-based shoe manufacturer will outfit all ball boys and girls, umpires, and officials with its sneakers during this year’s tennis tournament from July 15 to 23.
Eric Braunschweiler, Co-Founder and Chief Product & Innovation Officer of GNL Footwear, commented in a press release from the company: “We believe this partnership with Swiss Open Gstaad will help us reach a larger audience and showcase the quality of our shoes and their benefits.”
GNL stands for Glide'n Lock, which is the patented technology that is used in the soles of GNL collections. The nubs on the soles can move in all directions, meaning that forces can be absorbed not just vertically but also horizontally without changing the natural reaction of the foot when walking.
According to information from the company, this is why GNL shoes do not need a thick sole “to perfectly cushion every step.” The Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology has confirmed that they have 30 percent better shock absorption than comparable models. According to GNL, the Californian shoe testing laboratory Heeluxe has also verified their particular stability. Models from other brands with the same stability are wider, thicker, and thus also heavier.
GNL Footwear has headquarters located at Technopark Zürich. ce/mm
