(CONNECT) The Board of Directors of FREITAG lab.ag is transferring the operational leadership of the Zurich-based bag manufacturer to Janine Weiz-Bühler. The former Director Brand & Product at Calida is set to take over management of the company as “navigator” from 1 February, as FREITAG announced in a press release. In this newly refined leadership role, Weiz-Bühler will be responsible for the strategic direction and overall management of FREITAG.

“Janine Weiz-Bühler impressed us with her wide-ranging leadership experience in design, product management and brand leadership, as well as her passion for the circular economy,” commented Co-founder of the company and Board member, Markus Freitag. “This makes her the ideal person to drive FREITAG’s development in a goal-oriented manner that aligns with our corporate values.” The designated “navigator” sees FREITAG lab.ag as a role model in the industry, “as a sustainability pioneer with steadfast principles, a values-based culture and a commitment to the ‘new work’ approach to leadership”.

Weiz-Bühler will replace FREITAG’s five-member Company Leader Collective, whose three-year term ended in December 2024. The circular company from Zurich restructured according to the principles of self-organization in 2016. The holacratic organizational model was recently adapted to suit its needs, with the company having “implemented enhanced leadership and decision-making competencies”. ce/hs
