(CONNECT) On and FKA twigs have teamed up again. Following the joint campaign “The Body Is Art, Part I” to showcase the Fall/Winter 24 collection, “The Body Is Art, Part II” now puts the spotlight on the Spring/Summer 25 training collection. As On states in a press release, “the second creative installment redefines training as a living, breathing art form where the body becomes a canvas for creative movement”. The campaign highlights monochrome designs of crop tops, shorts, socks and sneakers in black and white.
“The Body Is Art” is said to reflect FKA twigs’ conviction that movement goes beyond physical performance to become an expression of art rooted in self-discovery, self-empowerment and creative exploration. This aligns with On’s mission that reportedly seeks to ignite the human spirit through movement, reframing training as a holistic experience that engages body, mind, and spirit.
Captured in film and still images, this campaign is shot by the London-based photographer Jordan Hemingway, with whom FKA twigs is in a relationship. With a backdrop provided by an industrial warehouse, sculptural movements are highlighted by intense, fluid choreography. FKA twigs’ co-stars include the Paralympic wheelchair athlete Léa Bayekula, the IFBB professional bodybuilder Michelle Mensah and the dancer and movement director Nana Yaa. ce/mm
