Fashion-Promo Tex wins contract for civil defense clothing

Fashion-Promo Tex from Aarburg in the Swiss canton of Aargau has been awarded the general contract for the manufacture and supply of personal civil defense material from the Federal Office for Civil Protection (FOCP). According to a press release, this step was necessary as the canton of Zurich will stop being responsible for procurement.

Fashion-Promo Tex brings extensive experience in design, procurement, storage, and logistics in the occupational and protective clothing industries. The press release states that the company will enable supply to the cantons via an online shop from December 2024. The range comprises essential pieces of equipment such as trousers, jackets, T-shirts, hats, gloves, and all personal civil protection material to ensure that civil protection organizations are ready for duty.

The federal government will oversee the coordination of the project. The cantonal officials for the military, population protection, and civil protection (KVMBZ) are responsible for funding the materials. Keeping the general contract under one roof should also continue to create a unified look for civil protection organizations in Switzerland. ce/ww
