The Winterthur-based textiles machinery manufacturer Rieter will in future be active in the area of textiles training together with Vinatex, a textiles manufacturer based in Hanoi, Vietnam. Together, the two companies are keen to “preserve and promote textile know-how within Vietnam’s industry”, further details of which can be found in a press release issued by Rieter.

Vinatex is a leading business group in the Vietnamese and Asian textiles and clothing industry with around 80,000 employees and 45 companies, the press release explains. The group operates its own vocational schools, universities and educational institutes as well as twelve spinning mills, while Vinatex has also become a major exporter over the past 25 years. The company delivers a wide range of clothing services along the entire supply chain and, according to the press release, is committed to fashion, high quality and environmental sustainability.

As part of the cooperation, experts from Rieter are to offer training courses for instructors at educational institutes operated by Vinatex. Guest lecturers will be invited to Vietnam and training opportunities are to be created at Vietnamese spinning mills. In addition, a machine model is to be supplied for educational purposes, with Rieter also keen to support trainees and students by offering scholarships.

“This partnership exemplifies our joint commitment to advancing the textile sector and ensuring sustainable long-term growth”, comments Rolf Zimmermann, Sales Manager Asia Pacific, in the press release. For its part, Vinatex intends to cultivate a “knowledgeable, skilled, and socially responsible workforce, ensuring workers’ well-being and national social security”. ce/ko
