(CONNECT) Switcher is continuing its growth trajectory: The textile company from the canton of Aargau is set to open its second store on March 3, 2026, on this occasion in Rheinfelden old town, on the back of its first shop in the Seen Center in Winterthur. “Located just a few kilometers from our headquarters in Frick, which is also home to the central warehouse, it was a logical step for the company to open its own store in the region”, as the company writes in a statement. This will reportedly strengthen Switcher’s regional ties to the Fricktal region, where the company will seek to continue its growth.
Founded in Lausanne in 1981 by Robin Cornelius, the brand had over 100 franchise and company-owned stores throughout Switzerland before going bankrupt in 2016. Relaunched in 2020 during the pandemic, Switcher has been transformed into an e-commerce brand with a mission of standing for fair and sustainable fashion – as was the case with the former company. With the two stores, Switcher is now making a comeback to the world of physical retail. The company is also planning to open a third store in Bulle in the canton of Fribourg in July.
Switcher will offer its basics at the new Rheinfelden store: Classic t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies and sweatpants. The range will be complemented by a compact children’s collection and a selection of outdoor products. “Sustainable materials and responsible production remain central components of the brand philosophy”, according to the company.
Doris Weber, who ran her own textile shop in the old town for many years, has been brought on board to manage the store. The official opening is slated for March 3, 2026. The entire Switcher team is inviting the public to an aperitif event in front of the store on March 7, 2026. During this opening week, customers will receive a free t-shirt and a 20 percent discount on their purchases. ce/mm
