(CONNECT) This year’s Best Managed Companies Award was presented by Deloitte, represented in Switzerland by the Zurich-based Deloitte AG, during a gala event hosted by The Hall in Zürich on June 25. In front of an audience of around 250 representatives from the worlds of business and academia, three companies – namely G. Bopp, Habasit International and Stallergenes Greer – were awarded for the first time.

The Best Managed Companies Award recognizes the management teams of non-listed companies and focuses on a quartet of pillars – strategy, productivity and innovation, culture and commitment, and governance and finances – as part of a multi-stage application process. The program is supported by the Zurich Cahmber of Commerce (ZHK), EFG Private Banking, the Six Group and WillisHenry.

The Zurich-based firm G. Bopp & Co. AG is a globally active manufacturer of precision wire mesh. The company develops the finest high tech woven metal meshes for use in numerous industrial applications. Habasit International AG, based in Reinach in the canton of Basel-Landschaft, is a global supplier of conveyor, processing and power transmission belts. Last but not least, Stallergenes Greer International AG, which is headquartered in Baar in the canton of Zug, specializes in allergen immunotherapy for human and veterinary medicine.

Following a multi-stage selection process, an independent jury of business and academic leaders settled on the winners of the awards. According to the announcement, the winning companies successfully demonstrated their strengths in an environment marked by geopolitical uncertainties and supply chain issues in particular.

In addition, 16 previous winners earned renewed recognition as “Requalifiers”. Companies are eligible for reassessment each year, allowing them to demonstrate the sustainability of their leadership quality. “The recognized companies have achieved something extraordinary”, comments Andreas Bodenmann, Program Manager and Head of Deloitte Private, before adding: “In a highly volatile and demanding environment, the leadership teams have impressively shown that they manage and develop their firms in an exemplary manner, which in turn helps to enhance their competitiveness”. ce/ja
