(CONNECT) A changing of the guard is set to take place at Kyburz Bettwarenfabrik AG at the start of July, with Sarah and Simon Utiger, the third generation of the Utiger family, set to take joint control of the bedding and textiles company, which is based in Kehrsatz in the canton of Bern, Switzerland, as the company explains in a press release. In this context, Simon Utiger, son-in-law of the current Managing Director Heinz Utiger, will serve as Managing Director, while Sarah Utiger, Simon’s wife and Heinz Utiger's daughter, will be responsible for overseeing employees and culture.

“We are not only assuming responsibility for a company, but rather for a whole industry”, comments Simon Utiger in the press release. “Sustainability doesn’t just begin with the product – it’s an attitude”, he adds. The succession plan, which will come into force at the beginning of July, had already been prepared within the company during the spring.

Heinz Utiger intends to remain active in the management team even after stepping down from operational management. “It was a particularly wonderful moment when Simon and Sarah decided to continue running Kyburz Bettwarenfabrik AG”, as the outgoing managing director explains, adding that: “It is a real source of pride for me to know that a young generation is now ready to take the helm and lead our family business into the future”. ce/hs
