Winterthur - Rieter did not, as previously announced, hand over leadership of the group to Daniel Lippuner at the start of November 2026. The Winterthur-based manufacturer of spinning technology cited differences regarding compensation as the reason. Georg Stausberg has instead been appointed as the new CEO.

(CONNECT) Georg Stausberg is now at the helm of Rieter AG. According to a statement, he is taking over as the new CEO of the Rieter Group with immediate effect. This means the role will not be assumed by Daniel Lippuner, who had been introduced as the future CEO in September 2026.

Rieter explains: “The Board of Directors of Rieter Holding Ltd. was confronted by the designated CEO, Daniel Lippuner, with additional demands regarding his compensation package, particularly his bonus. Due to irreconcilable differences, Daniel Lippuner will not assume the position.”

Stausberg joins Rieter from Barmag, based in Freienbach in the canton of Schwyz, where he served as CEO. The Winterthur-based company acquired the global market leader in systems used for manufacturing manmade fibers for 713 million Swiss francs in May 2025. Following the acquisition, Stausberg became a member of the Rieter Group’s Executive Committee.

According to Rieter, he has more than three decades of experience in the international textile machinery industry and has shaped the development of Barmag in various leadership positions. The company describes the German citizen, born in 1963, as one of the most distinguished leaders in the global textile machinery industry. ce/mm
