Headquartered in Sursee in the canton of Lucerne, the Calida Group closed financial year 2022 having once again achieved record financial results. Despite what can be described as a weak market landscape in general, the textiles firm for top quality, premium underwear has announced in a press release that it increased sales last year by +14.4 percent to a currency-adjusted level of 323.9 million Swiss francs. In this context, the company has posted an operating profit of 27.7 million Swiss francs, which equates to growth of +14 percent year on year.
The Calida Group employs 2,500 staff worldwide and includes the underwear and lingerie brands CALIDA, Aubade, erlich textil and Cosabella, in addition to the garden furniture brand Lafuma Mobilier. With an increase of +11.9 percent, e-commerce was responsible for a significant share of the sales growth.
For the future, the Calida Group is confident of securing additional growth on the back of sales generated by recently acquired brands such as Erlich Textil and Cosabella, as well as from Aubade’s entry to the US market. The omni-channel business model, which allows the Group to stay close to customers across several sales channels, has “consistently proven its worth and forms the solid foundation for the future development” of the company as a whole, as Timo Schmidt-Eisenhart, CEO of the CALIDA GROUP, concludes in the press release. ww
