According to a press release, the Zurich-based bag manufacturer FREITAG has developed a creative solution for individual design: customers can use an internet platform with premade templates to develop their bag designs from a selection of 20 to 50 fully digitalized truck tarpaulins and virtually cut out the pieces.

Two classics from FREITAG’s range can be created in this way: the F712 DRAGNET messenger bag and now also the F713 KNIGHT RIDER hip bag, which can also be secured to a bike frame. These bags cannot be exchanged after sale. The individual bag design can be created using the f-cut platform, which was developed by Severin Klaus and his creative team at Digitalagentur Dept.

FREITAG was founded by the graphic designers Markus and Daniel Freitag in 1993. It has been based in Zurich’s Oerlikon quarter since 2011. The bag material comes from recycled truck tarpaulin, while handles and straps are made from spent bike tire tubes or seatbelts. FREITAG’s products are available through retail or online across Europe. eb
