Fischbacher 1819 will be presenting a new mini collection of curtains at Milan Design Week, which is set to run April 15-21. Entitled “The Drei Berge Collection”, the range has been developed in cooperation with the French-Moroccan designer Ramdane Touhami, as the textiles company based in St.Gallen explains in a press release. “Collaborating with designers such as Ramdane allows our brand to switch up our style and refine our creativity and technical innovation”, comments Camilla D. Fischbacher, Creative Director of the family-owned business, in the press release.

The new collection has been developed in homage to three Swiss Alpine peaks, namely the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. The name comes from the Drei Berge Hotel in Mürren in the canton of Bern. “My love for hiking and the mountains took me to the Swiss Alps and to Mürren, where I redesigned the Drei Berge Hotel”, as Touhami explains in the press release. “The hotel’s breathtaking location inspired me to create this collection with Fischbacher 1819.”

The Jungfrau curtain made of knitted wool is intended for the colder months of the year, with the Eiger lending its name to a lightweight curtain fabric woven from pure wool. The Mönch is suitable as a year-round curtain and is made from alpaca and virgin wool. The colors of the curtains are intended to reflect the ever-changing vistas and energy of the Alpine landscape. Fischbacher 1819 will launch “The Drei Berge Collection” on the market in the fall showcasing it in Milan this month. ce/hs
