The Forster Group is inviting members of the public to attend an Embroidery Fashion Hightech Inspiration Day at its newly renovated Kreativhaus in eastern St.Gallen on May 4. Group companies Forster Rohner, Jakob Schlaepfer, Inter-Spitzen and its FRTI division, as well as Biontec will display the wide-ranging ways in which St.Gallen embroidery is used.

The settings in which traditional St.Gallen embroidery is found are now “unbelievably varied and exciting, but also challenging,” says Emanuel Forster, CEO of Forster Rohner AG, in a press release. “The renovation of our site in St.Gallen is giving us the space we need to meet these new opportunities and needs in a contemporary way.” He adds that this clearly demonstrates the company’s commitment to its location and industry.

Around 200 employees create textile products at the recently renovated Kreativhaus on Flurhofstrasse. To showcase the varied uses of St.Gallen embroidery, six tours and presentations will be offered in different time slots on May 4. Free tickets are available online.

Jakob Schlaepfer will present the topic of innovation in textiles, from St.Gallen to the catwalks of international fashion capitals. Forster Willi will tell stories from the history of fashion embroidery. Forster Rohner Lingerie will show how digital innovation is changing embroidery in the global lingerie market. Inter-Spitzen will demonstrate how it makes bras that are both pretty and comfortable, and FRTI will inform visitors about smart textiles that can provide heat and light and conduct electricity. Biontec Composite Technologies AG will explain how embroidery can be used in high-tech drones and brake levers for bicycles. ce/mm
