Micasa, the Migros-owned specialist market chain for furniture and home accessories, and the Zurich-based design studio Sula have jointly developed the limited collection SOLE, further details of which can be found in a press release. The collection consists of 48 products and includes everything one could possibly need for a summer day: from beach towels and bags, to parasols and loungers, to bedding, pillows and tableware. According to Micasa, all of the products bear the unmistakable hallmark of Sula.

In the words of Nadja Stäubli, founder and creative director of Sula, the collection is designed to “awake a longing for vacations and post-work relaxation, for carefree days in life when you have the chance to paddle your feet in cool waters”. The color palette, which ranges from hues of aquamarine and pink through to mint green, deep sky blue and sunset red, also tries to evoke these kinds of feelings.

Collaborations of this kind are a key pillar of the new strategy pursued by Micasa, which has adopted a stronger focus on design. Following the collaboration with Swiss Federal Railways and the Zurich Museum of Design, this is the second collaboration that the brand has brought to market in the current year. “We have a clear mission”, as Maxime Zenderoudi, creative director of Micasa, explains, “to democratize good Swiss design and make this accessible for all”.

SOLE will be exclusively available in all Micasa branches and from the Micasa online shop for a limited time only from March 19. Moreover, the collection is set to be showcased as an immersive installation at the House of Switzerland Milano during Milano Design Week, which runs April 15-21. ce/mm
