Lorenzo Sorbi is the new CEO of GNL AG according to a press release from the company with headquarters at Technopark Zürich. He will contribute his extensive experience in the Italian fashion industry to the company. The marketing expert created the SEASE fashion label together with the Italian Piana family, for example. The Piana family is responsible for Loro Piana, which specializes in high-quality wool fabrics and was sold to the French luxury goods producer LVMH.
According to GNL’s Co-Founder and Head of Innovation Eric Braunschweiler, Sorbi will help to continue to build up the company and lead it to new heights in his new role at GNL. Eric and his father, Jürg Braunschweiler, developed the core of the GNL shoe together: an innovative sole with bumps that can move in all directions. This means that forces are absorbed not just vertically but also horizontally without changing the natural reaction of the foot when moving. The patented technology is called Glide'n Lock, which formed the basis for the brand name: GNL.
Sorbi commented in the press release: “The company’s commitment to promoting individuals’ health and wellbeing with innovative shoes coincides perfectly with my personal and professional values.” He took up his new role at GNL on September 1. ce/ssp
