Lantal is continuing its long-standing partnership with the Finnish national airline Finnair. As the flight company explains on its website and demonstrates in a video, the airline has for the first time in its history established a Premium Economy travel class for long-haul flights. Economy class has also been completely redesigned. Passengers can book flights on these aircraft for routes to Singapore, Dallas and New York from May 11, 2022.
The development of the new interior concept was four years in the making, according to David Kondo from the Finnair Customer Experience Team: “We wanted to rethink business class and create more of a residential environment, emulating the comfort you would expect at home”, he explains in a press release issued by the London-based design agency tangerine. “The outcome is testament to the close and productive relationship between Finnair, our team, and the various manufacturers involved”, comments Matt Round, Chief Creative Officer of tangerine. David Kondo also took to LinkedIn to expressly thank Lantal for the successful collaboration.
Lantal was founded in 1886 and employs over 400 people worldwide, with the textiles manufacturer having been working with the aviation industry for more than 60 years. Lantal describes itself as one of the world’s leading suppliers of complete solutions for aircraft interiors: “All major airframe makers and over 300 airlines vest their trust in our know-how”, the company writes on its website.
