Muntagnard and QWSTION collaborate

Muntagnard, a company based in the Swiss canton of Graubünden, will be including QWSTION’s products at its flagship store in Chur from August. In doing so, Muntagnard is adding the circular bags and backpacks from QWSTION based in Zurich to its own sustainable, circular clothing.

Both companies are united in their equal focus on responsible consumption and driving forward the circular economy in the textile industry. Muntagnard has been developing “the most desirable, circular clothing possible” since 2018. Flustix, a Berlin-based company focusing on plastic-free products, has already heralded the LEGNA t-shirt made from wood fibers as the first plastic-free garment in the world. This was followed by the plastic-free product line LANA made from Swiss wool, functional clothing made from MIU-tec (material infinite use technology), and other monofiber products.

QWSTION creates its plastic-free backpacks and bags with the smallest environmental footprint possible in a minimal, timeless design using organic cotton and vegetable-tanned leather as well as providing repairs if needed. Around five years ago, its development Bananatex came to market as the world’s first technical textile made from fibers of the banana plant (called acabá) cultivated organically in the highlands of the Philippines. It plays an important part in the reforestation of former palm oil plantations.

Muntagnard states in the press release: “The similarity between our way of thinking and corporate philosophy and theirs is striking.
