ISA Sallmann is set to receive the Thurgau Apple on May 12. The celebratory award ceremony is taking place at the company’s headquarters in Amriswil in the canton of Thurgau. The Thurgau economy incentive award is presented each year by the Thurgau Trade Association, the cantonal chamber of commerce and industry IHK Thurgau and the Cantonal Bank of Thurgau in cooperation with the cantonal government of the canton of Thurgau. The prize is awarded to companies with a commitment to Thurgau as a location of business, high innovative power and a focus on sustainability.

ISA Sallmann is a family-run company now under management by the seventh generation of the Sallmann family. It develops and manufactures underwear for men, women and children, with the majority of the fabrics produced at the company headquarters in Amriswil in the canton of Thurgau. According to a press release issued by IHK Thurgau, ISA Sallmann is the last Swiss underwear manufacturer with its own knitting mill in Switzerland.

The development, design and distribution also take place in Switzerland: “ISA Sallmann AG bucks the trend of buying clothes from large companies that produce in low-wage countries and instead invests successfully in the local area and European supply chains”, the press release explains.

The jury also viewed the fact that ISA Sallmann uses sustainable materials as a positive. The finishing of these materials is carried out by a Swiss partner in compliance with the strictest legal regulations. ce/ssp
