The St.Gallen-based textile company Fischbacher 1819, formerly Christian Fischbacher, has unveiled its new collection ‘Nomadic Journeys: Weaving together the Past and Future’ at the Paris textile fair Déco Off, according to a statement. The new textiles are in warm, natural tones, while materials range from yak wool to hemp and other natural fibers. A variety of coarsely structured curtains, transparent curtains and room dividers as well as woolen plaids also feature.

The idea behind the new creations is a contemporary interpretation of nomadic life. COVID-19 and digitalization have shown that work and life are not tied to specific spaces, according to the statement. "Today, we are seeing digital nomads who take their homes with them wherever they go," Camilla D. Fischbacher, Creative Director of the family-owned company, is quoted as saying. "We associate the term nomad with movement, cultural diversity and the courage for personal development."

The new creations will be presented in Paris from 17 to 24 January. ce/ww
