Based in Zurich, the start-up dimpora has claimed the first prize of 15,000 euros in a competition for innovative and sustainable solutions for the chemistry and textiles industry. The jury from the International Sustainable Chemistry Collaborative Centre (ISC3) was said to be convinced that the company has made an exceptional and innovative contribution to sustainable chemistry in the textiles industry, further details of which can be found in a LinkedIn post.
Dimpora has developed a PFAS-free, polyurethane-based textile membrane of the same name. The manufacturing process is based on a patented CoreLayer technology that can be used to produce membranes from any polymer. The advantage of this process is that it creates a fluorine-free alternative for the production of outdoor textiles. With its solution, the company is providing the industry with an answer to health challenges. ce/ww
