Haelixa AG, a company specializing in DNA markers for product traceability from Kemptthal in the canton of Zurich, Switzerland, has been awarded the ECO PASSPORT certification from OEKO-TEX. As detailed in a press release, the certification serves to recognize the company’s efforts to ensure responsible chemical management in the textile industry with the aim of making its products safe for both consumers and the environment. Haelixa develops textile markers on the basis of DNA. These allow products to be traced back to the fiber origin, which introduces transparency along the entire supply chain process.
The ECO PASSPORT certificate from OEKO-TEX is designed to ensure that the chemicals, dyes and auxiliaries used in the textile and leather industry meet strict environmental and safety standards. The certification process includes analytical testing and optional on-site visits along the supply chain, while self-assessments are also taken into account.
By meeting the stringent standards set by OEKO-TEX, Haelixa has demonstrated compliance with global regulations and underlined its support for brands in their efforts to source safer, more environmentally friendly materials, as the press release states. ce/ww
