Rotkreuz/Freiburg - Waschbär is increasing transparency in its supply chains with the help of the Zug-based textiles manufacturer Remei. The German online shop for environmentally friendly and socially responsible products is now offering the first and fully traceable Remei textiles. More will follow in due course.

Waschbär, the mail order company for environmentally friendly and socially responsible products, has agreed a cooperation with Remei, the manufacturer of organic textiles based in Rotkreuz in the canton of Zug. As Remei has announced in a press release, an initial selection of its products is now available online at Waschbär, with additional items set to be added on a gradual basis in due course.

Both companies are committed to driving forward the systemic transformation of the textiles industry. The goal here is maximum transparency along supply chains, while human rights and environmental protection represent additional focal points.

“Through the cooperation with Remei, we are now creating even more transparency in addition to our voluntary declaration”, explains Barbara Engel, sustainability manager at Waschbär, in the press release. “Remei is exemplary in its commitment to environmental protection and fairness along its entire supply chain and communicates this in a way that everyone can understand”, she adds.

With around 10,000 products in its range, Waschbär is one of the largest mail order companies for environmentally friendly and socially responsible products in German-speaking countries. The online retailer belongs to the Triaz Group, which is based in the German city of Freiburg. Waschbär is a responsibly-owned company and, as such, is not geared towards pure profit maximization in the interests of investors and owners.
