The Zurich-based textiles company Image Wear, which specializes in work uniforms, has been awarded the contract to supply PPE to workers employed by a department of the city of Zurich, namely Zurich Disposal and Recycling (ERZ). According to a press release, Image Wear will provide hi-vis vests, jackets and pants, as well as other workwear garments, for the next few years.

The press release explains further that the clothing company has been supplying a large portion of the PPE worn by ERZ employees for the past two years. Image Wear was awarded this latest contract due to its economic and organizational performance, its experience in the field of workwear and its technical specifications.

Image Wear’s membership of the Sustainable Textiles Switzerland initiative, which is operated by Swiss Textiles, amfori and Swiss Trade Fair, was also a key factor behind winning the contract. According to the information, the city of Zurich is committed to this initiative and the “ecological and socially responsible procurement processes” it demands.

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to supply high-visibility vests, jackets and trousers, among other apparel, all printed with the ERZ logo, to various locations across Zurich over the next five years”, says Patrice Weber, CEO of Image Wear, in the press release. ce/ko
