According to a press release, the Zurich Silk Association (ZSIG) is supporting Kemptthal-based Haelixa AG with a fresh injection of capital. The volume of the transaction has not been disclosed. Haelixa intends to use the capital raised to expand its global activities.

Haelixa specializes in providing reliable traceability of products throughout the entire supply chain. The spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich has developed a DNA-based marker that enables products to be identified without the need for labels or certificates. According to the press release, these markers are designed to withstand all processing and treatment of materials throughout the supply chain. This enables textile and fashion companies, for example, to reliably prove the origin of their products. Haelixa is seeking to become the global standard in physical traceability.

The ZSIG brings together active and former companies from Zurich’s silk industry. Established in 1854, it is one of Switzerland’s oldest trade associations and focuses on promoting high-quality projects in the textile industry.

Haelixa is “profoundly grateful for the generous support ZSIG provides and their exclusive network,” according to company co-founder and Chairman of the Board Gediminas Mikutis. “As an association with a rich history in textiles, ZSIG has a track record in selecting future-proof solutions, and this contribution reaffirms our shared commitment to innovation.” ce/gba
