Maison blanche gives 20,000 Swiss francs to women's shelters

(CONNECT) According to an announcement, Yannik Zamboni has “reached a decisive point in his Shirt for Positive Impact initiative” with his Zurich-based fashion brand, maison blanche: the company has donated the current proceeds of 20,000 Swiss francs to the umbrella organization of women’s shelters in Switzerland and Liechtenstein (DAO).

The limited edition can be traced back to the designer winning the Miele x Mode Suisse Award for Positive Impact, which was awarded at Mode Suisse in early September 2024. The prize from Miele, the manufacturer of premium kitchen, laundry, and cleaning appliances from Spreitenbach in the Swiss canton of Aargau, supports socially and environmentally conscious Swiss fashion designers with a cash prize and a design contract for an exclusive item of clothing.

The shirts are made from 100 percent regenerative cotton and include striking rotary printing in red or white. According to the announcement, it embodies “the ethos of maison blanche in relation to circularity and sustainability.”

Zamboni commented: “This project is about more than just fashion. It is a question of using design as an instrument for change. The support that we have received for this initiative was unbelievable and we are proud to contribute to the DAO’s important work, which provides safety and resources to women in emergencies.”

The shirts are still available on Miele’s website. Sales will reportedly be expanded worldwide in the coming days. All proceeds will continue to go to the DAO. ce/mm
