HeiQ, a technology company specializing in textile processing based in Schlieren in the canton of Zurich, Switzerland, has been named as one of the winners of this year’s Sustainability & Innovation Awards by the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (IMTF), which is headquartered in Zurich. The award, which serves as recognition of HeiQ’s commitment to sustainable innovation in the textile industry, is set to be presented at the ITMF & IAF Conference 2024, further details of which can be found in a press release. The conference takes place September 8-10 in the Uzbek city of Samarkand.
Carlo R. Centonze, CEO of HeiQ, will make a speech at the conference entitled “Hyperscaling HeiQ AeoniQ - Invest in a Cellulosic Filament Yarn that Tackles Polyester and Nylon”. With this, he will seek to outline how HeiQ is paving the way towards a more sustainable future by promoting an organic, biodegradable fiber. This is made using climate-positive raw materials, is suitable for the circular economy and contributes to decarbonization as a substitute for synthetic fibers.
The conference in Uzbekistan is being held by the IMTF in conjunction with the International Apparel Federation (IAF). The ITMF is one of the oldest international non-governmental organizations (NGOs), having been founded back in 1904.
HeiQ, a spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH), is headquartered at the IJZ, an innovation and start-up park located in Schlieren. The company is also a member of Start Smart Schlieren. ce/gba
