For the upcoming autumn/winter season, the home textile manufacturer Balsiger Textil from Langentahl in the Swiss canton of Bern is launching a bed linen collection under its lavie brand featuring large checkered patterns in dark green and light lavender, according to a press release. The checkered pattern of the Lyn bed linen is yarn-dyed, i.e. it is created by weaving with different yarn colors. The duvet and pillowcase are each made from 100 percent organic cotton

The yarns used are certified in accordance with the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) for ecological and social responsibility. The Caja bedspread, which can also be used as a lightweight blanket on warmer nights, ties in with the checkered pattern of the Lyn bed linen.

The textile manufacturer describes its new Vito bedding range as timeless and stylish, with rich dark green tones paired with fine checkered lines in lavender to exude a sense of calm. Like Lyn, Vito products are made from 100 percent organic cotton and certified in line with GOTS and the bioRe seal of quality from Remei.

The Nora blanket is now also available in the colorway Undyed. Essentially, this is completely unbleached cotton. There are also two new colorways for a couple of existing models: rich red port for the Lotta bed linen made from hemp fiber, and lavender used in the Linus bedding in linen is now also available for the Louise collection made from GOTS-certified percale cotton.

Balsiger will be presenting its hemp and linen bedding, its Cradle to Cradle-certified products and new organic cotton pajamas at the lavie showroom from September 19 to 21 during the Zurich Design Weeks. ce/mm
