(CONNECT) Neumühle, the sustainable fashion brand from Zurich, has secured 75,000 Swiss francs in fresh funding. With this, the company will be able to get started with its plans to expand the Mono Shirt collection made from recyclable organic cotton, which was first announced at the end of June 2025. The capital was raised in just 25 days via a crowdfunding campaign on wemakeit, meaning that the company actually beat its original target of raising the money in 30 days. Since then, the total has continued to grow, and the campaign will continue to run until August 1.
More than 350 supporters have donated up to this point, contributing to the development and production of the sustainable organic cotton collection. Thanks to their recyclable properties, the textiles can be easily returned to the circular production cycle. According to Neumühle, the Mono Shirts are made of the same organic material “in all parts” including the collar, labels and sewing thread. Moreover, the cotton does not contain any elastane or polyester threads.
Since being founded in 2019, Neumühle states that it has “broken new ground in the textile industry in terms of sustainability, innovation and design” Neumühle’s journey towards a sustainable textile industry also includes collecting worn-out shirts that have reached the end of their useful lives.
The manufacturer sends these returned shirts to the Turkish production facility of its Swiss recycling partner Säntis Textiles, where they are mechanically recycled into new yarn without the use of chemicals or water. To incentivize customers to returns the shirts, Neumühle offers customers a discount of 20 percent on their next purchase. ce/heg
