Together with the German companies ALTEX Textil Recycling and Trevira CS, Création Baumann has developed a production process to transform its own leftover textiles into absorber panels. The panels manufactured at ALTEX are cut at the Création Baumann plant in Langenthal in the canton of Bern, Switzerland, and processed into the products ACOUSTIC WALL COVER RECYCLED and ACOUSTIC ROOM DIVIDER RECYCLED, as detailed in a press release issued by the textiles-based interior design specialists. “As a textile manufacturer, we are only too aware that raw materials are finite in nature and we hold our textiles in high esteem”, comments Managing Director Philippe Baumann. He adds: “Together with Trevira CS and ALTEX Textil Recycling, we have put in place an innovative, ecologically sustainable circular process that we are proud to present”. The acoustic panels presented at the end of October during Orgatec 2024 in Cologne are scheduled to be launched on the market in January 2025.

At present, Création Baumann’s commitment to sustainability across the textiles industry can be seen in its contribution to the “Circle of Water. Textilien in Fluss” exhibition hosted by the Textile Museum in St. Gallen, as Création Baumann states in another press release. Specifically, Création Baumann fabrics that are no longer for sale are being used in the scenography of the exhibition for environmentally and water-friendly swimwear and outdoor fashion. On November 14, Philippe Baumann will discuss sustainability in textiles companies with Urs Schellenberg, CEO of E. Schellenberg Textildruck, and Fabian Takacs, who heads up the Circular Lab at the University of St. Gallen, as part of the supporting program of events for the exhibition.

According to a third press release, Création Baumann has refreshed its range of vertical blinds. In this context, the three products IROLO, SUEZ and SPECTRA have been released in new colorways. Moreover, the range has been expanded with the addition of the products LORDIN und FUSIO erweitert. ce/hs
