Zurich/Langenthal - DillySocks and lavie have developed a joint collection. It comprises two designs for bedding, a hammam towel and four sock designs. In total, 10 percent of the proceeds raised from this collection will be donated to the Ghana-based foundation rePATRN, which focuses on recycling PET bottles.

DillySocks from Zürich and lavie, a brand owned by Balsiger Textil AG based in Langenthal in the canton of Bern, are launching a small joint collection on the market. The #cleptomanicfriendcollection consists of two bed linen designs, a hammam towel and four different socks designs, the two textile labels explain in a joint press release. The partners have made an effort to remove themselves from their respective comfort zones for this project: DillySocks produces the bed linen and lavie is responsible for the socks, as the website for the joint collection explains.

Gunnar the seagull acts as the advertising medium for the #cleptomanicfriendcollection collection. Gunnar has “a kleptomaniac disposition and steals everything for his nest, from socks to hammam towels to bed linen”, the press release explains. Gunnar is also the main motif on some products in the collection.

DillySocks and lavie share a focus on matters of sustainability, the partners explain further in the press release. Both labels want to lead their brands “into the future” with an emphasis on sustainability. The joint project will also make a contribution to a plastic recycling initiative, with 10 percent of the proceeds from the #cleptomanicfriendcollection going towards the Ghana-based foundation rePATRN LTD. This helps to collect and recycle polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles in Ghana. The collected bottles are processed into bales and exported. The PET obtained can then be processed into new products, for example for the textile industry. hs
