The running shoe manufacturer On Running is now testing an information counter that offers product information on all shoe models with video playback capability at the Jelmoli department store on Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich. Shoppers can place their desired model on the counter, which then reads the information and product video data via an RFID chip, which is integrated into the shoe at the factory, before displaying them on a screen.

The On Running Hybrid Explorer also allows users to compare different models against each other. At the same time, user interaction data with regard to the shoes is also recorded in the background.

On Running initially tested the information counter at its Flagship Store located on Hardturmstrasse 183 in Zurich. The company is now reviewing the feasibility of deploying the solution at additional shops.

The solution was developed by Trihow AG, according to information from the company based in Rotkreuz in the canton of Zug. Trihow is a specialist in bringing together digital and analogue solutions in an intuitive, user-friendly manner.

Trihow has been nominated for the Prix SVC Central Switzerland, which is being presented on May 2 at the Lucerne Culture and Congress Centre (KKL). ce/stk
