TESTEX, the Zurich-based testing and certification institute, has launched a new label to denote sustainable textiles. Manufacturers and brands alike now have the option of signifying that their products comply with the principles of the circular economy with the TESTEX CIRCULARITY label, further details of which can be found in a press release. The label focuses on aspects such as durability, repairability and recyclability of textiles.

With this new initiative, TESTEX is seeking to minimize waste and increase the lifespan of textiles. To this end, textiles firms will be encouraged to play their part by ensuring responsible design, production and sales processes. The aim is to conserve resources, reduce environmental pollution and, in so doing, combat climate change in general by taking the principles of the circular economy into account, as the company writes in the press release. By using TESTEX CIRCULARITY, brands can underline their commitment to the circular economy and manufacturers can declare that their production activities comply with sustainability criteria. ce/eb
