(CONNECT) The Swiss textile industry has convened at the factory of Schuler Uniformen AG in Rothenthurm in the canton of Schwyz for the second SWISS EDITION NRP Sounding Board. In attendance at the event were, for example, Swiss Textiles, Circular Clothing, Rotauf, Nettle Circle, Botanitex and the project sponsors Schwyz Next, WE ARE ZRCL and Schuler Uniformen. The focus was on delving deeper into key challenges and action areas that were defined following the first meeting at WE ARE ZRCL in Schwyz.
In this context, the stakeholders came together to discuss the development of a practical industry directory to improve networking among Swiss Made producers and sustainable supply chains, as well as strengthening the Swiss Made brand through increased visibility on existing platforms. New approaches to returns and recycling will also be developed in collaboration with partners such as Fabric Loop, while smaller textile labels that place sustainability at the heart of their operations will be supported through shared resource use and expertise in prototype and small-series production.
A particular highlight of the event was the exclusive tour of the Schuler factory with Managing Director Stefan Steiner. Guests were able to see ongoing production activities first hand, revealing how precision, passion and efficiency are combined in uniform manufacturing, according to a press release.
The SWISS EDITION NRP project, the aim of which is to establish a cross-business innovation platform for the sustainable Swiss textile industry, will continue in 2026. The next Sounding Board meeting is scheduled to take place on April 2 at ISA SALLMANN in Amriswil in the canton of Thurgau. WE ARE ZRCL, a streetwear label focused on transparent CO2-neutral, sustainable and fair textile production, is the project manager. ce/ja
