(CONNECT) CWS Workwear, which is part of the German company CWS from Duisburg and represented in Switzerland by CWS-boco Suisse in Opfikon in the Swiss canton of Zurich, has been certified with EcoVadis Gold status for the first time. According to a statement, the rating places the workwear and protective clothing manufacturer among the top five per cent of companies assessed by EcoVadis. The internationally active platform conducts sustainability assessments of businesses.

EcoVadis Gold status signifies sound supply chain management, emphasising clearly defined standards, transparency, and long-term partnerships. Compared to the previous year, CWS Workswear significantly improved its performance in the assessment criteria – particularly in the areas of environment and sustainable procurement, writes the statement.

“Receiving EcoVadis Gold status shows that our processes, data quality, and sustainability measures are already at a very high and robust level,” Leonie Biesen, Sustainability Lead at CWS Workwear, is quoted as saying. For CEO Hartmut Engler, the rating “gives us valuable impetus to make further progress, particularly in terms of formal commitments and ethics. For us this is very important, as we see sustainability as an integral part of our business model and as a responsibility towards our customers, employees, and partners.” ce/ww
