(CONNECT) Fischbacher 1819 is collaborating with mymyio, from Lyss in the Swiss canton of Bern, which specializes in furniture made from recycled materials. Their new label is called Fischbacher 1819 x mymyio. According to a statement, the design duo will present two upcycled sofas at BEA 2026 – a trade, industry, and agriculture exhibition taking place from 24 April to 3 May 2026 at the Bernexpo event space, where the two new designs will be displayed under the SME Impulse programme.

Recycled and circular materials make up 94 per cent of mymyio’s furniture. The two upcycled sofas also feature a recycled fabric: BENU BOUCLE RECYCLED from Fischbacher 1819. “Sustainability isn’t a trend, but a mindset,” Michael Fischbacher, CEO of Fischbacher 1819, is quoted as saying in the statement. “The energy with which mymyio drives circularity immediately inspired us.”

Björn Ischi and Florian Baumgartner, mymyio’s founders, say they are delighted with the collaboration: “The fact that a renowned company like Fischbacher 1819 shares our vision is a tremendous endorsement. For mymyio, this partnership represents the perfect mix of tradition and innovation. Together we are showing that circular furniture doesn’t just have to be sustainable – it can also represent high-end design.” ce/ww
