(CONNECT) REAL Luzern is the newest member of Fabric Loop, as has been announced. The Zurich-based association advocates for a circular economy in the textile industry. It was co-founded in 2024 by the industry association Swiss Textiles.
REAL Luzern is a public-law association based in the Lucerne area. On an intermunicipal basis, it is responsible for waste management in 21 member municipalities and for wastewater disposal in the 15 municipalities connected to the Buholz and Rontal wastewater treatment plants. The association’s services are provided to over 230,000 residents in approximately 110,000 households as well as thousands of businesses.
“We are delighted to welcome our newest member, REAL Luzern,” Fabric Loop writes, explaining that a new circular system for textiles will only be possible “if we all pull together, whether we are textile companies, public sector or collection companies”.
Fabrice Bachmann, CEO of REAL Luzern, outlines his association’s reasons for joining: “We see Fabric Loop as an opportunity to effectively combine innovation and sustainability so that transparent and environmentally sound recycling of textiles within our association’s territory can be ensured in the future.” ce/mm
