MOVER SPORTSWEAR SA opens retail store in Bern

(CONNECT) The sports and leisure apparel manufacturer MOVER SPORTSWEAR SA has been operating its first physical retail store in Kaiserhaus Bern at Marktgasse 41 since Friday, 10 April. The Lausanne-based start-up intends to offer its range of fully plastic-free clothing across a retail space of 600 square meters, as detailed in a statement.

The new store is located inside OF GOODS, a retail company that opened to the public on the same date. OF GOODS is conceived as a meeting place that connects brands and people, questions the status quo, and presents future-oriented visions. “Of course, we are happy to be part of that”, as company founder Nicolas Rochat comments in the statement.

MOVER is active in the development, sale and distribution of sportswear, leisurewear and accessories. In 2021, the company launched Mover Plastic Free Sportswear, focusing on plastic-free product development. According to the company, these products represent “more than just a brand – it’s a movement. A movement inspired by the greatest innovator of all time: Life”. On the website, MOVER states that its plastic-free approach is “redefining outdoor and sportswear. Not just for performance, but for a greater purpose” with the aim of counteracting a “world drowning in plastic”. Moreover, the company highlights its focus on “pure, high-performance natural fibers, engineered with Swiss precision, and ethically produced in Europe”.

According to the information, every product is made exclusively from natural fibers, while the avoidance of synthetic materials is said to reflect a growing appreciation on the part of many consumers with regard to the origin of materials and their life cycles. The fashion brand received the Red Dot Design Award in 2025 for the Ventile Shell+, which is regarded as “the world's first completely plastic-free outdoor jacket”.
