In 2020, Jacob Rohner AG launched a sock donation program. Since then, Rohner Socks has donated a pair of socks for every pair (or any other product) that is purchased from its range. The number of donated pairs of socks has now passed the half a million mark, according to a post by Jacob Rohner AG on LinkedIn.

Caritas Switzerland is the main partner in the donation program, but Rohner Socks also works with other social organizations, for example in refugee camps and emergency shelters. Jacob Rohner AG has provided a contact form on its website, where other charitable organizations can express their interest in working together over the long term.

“Social responsibility remains at the heart of our mission in 2024 – not just throughout our supply chain but also towards our end consumers,” writes the company in the LinkedIn post. The donated socks meet the Rohner Socks quality standards and, just as with sold pairs, are exclusively produced in Europe using sustainable materials and processes.

“Hygiene products, which include socks, are in particular demand among people in need,” says the company on LinkedIn, explaining the reasons for its campaign. Rohner firmly believes “that every human being in the world has the right to wear socks that are in good condition, functional, warm and, above all, unused”. ce/hs
