Uster Technologies, the global market leader in the quality control of textiles from fiber to fabric, is current showcasing its 360Q suite. At ITMA 2023, the world’s largest trade fair for textiles and clothing technology taking place in Milan, Uster is demonstrating the benefits of its solution suite for the quality management of raw materials at spinning mills, further details of which can be found in a press release issued by Uster.

For example, in order to maintain stocks of raw cotton without sacrificing quality and profitability, or to ensure an optimal mix of raw materials without suffering production downtimes and maintaining consistent quality, Uster uses 360Q to automate the analysis and management of raw material quality. “This achieves maximum and long-term quality consistency, reduces mixing costs and optimizes yield and waste levels”, Uster explains in the press release, before concluding that: “Minimized losses from claims are the logical result”.

The associated software module FiberQ Lot is suitable for spinning mills that take representative samples of the incoming cotton - for example, when cotton parameter variation is low within a single lot. In contrast, FiberQ Bale can be used to carry out tests on 100 percent of the bales.

The centralised Uster 360Q platform handles comprehensive data processing tasks. It offers spinning mills access to Uster’s cloud services. For example, an overview of multiple plants can now be obtained from one central point - and at any location as well. The Uster Academy, an e-learning platform offering courses from global textiles experts, is also being launched. ce/mm
