Christian Fischbacher, the luxury textiles designer based in St.Gallen, is to offer a first glimpse at its new spring collection. “Seeking Beauty – Inspired by Nature”, as the collection is known, is an “ode to nature”, according to a press release. The new curtain and upholstery fabrics are inspired by their colors and shapes as well as “original, organic materiality”. The color scheme makes use of warm, earthy and green tones.
The press release explains further that the collection is also something of a homage to the 19th century Arts and Crafts movement. “For us, it’s important to use traditional craftsmanship and, with this collection, to ensure that the knowledge of production techniques is carried into the future”, comments Creative Director Camilla D. Fischbacher. In this context, the considerate use of raw materials is a top priority, she says. Because “durability and timeless design make these subtle textiles long-term companions”. Recycled materials obtained from PET bottles are also used for certain fabrics.
On January 19, Camilla D. Fischbacher will be presenting the new spring collection at the company’s Paris showroom, where guests will be invited to enjoy a glass of champagne and chocolates. The event has been organized to coincide with the Paris Déco Off trade fair, which takes place during the same week.
