On July 16, Rieter and the Shanghai Digital Intelligence World Industrial Technology Group (DIW) signed a purchase contract for more than 700 Rieter Autoconer X6 winding machines. According to a press release issued by the Winterthur-based textile machine manufacturer, this is the largest order that Rieter China has ever received.

It follows an initial order placed by DIW in March 2024 which, as Rieter had announced back then, was worth over 62 million Swiss francs. At that time, the two companies also agreed a partnership to develop state-of-the-art spinning operations that make use of digitization and automation to minimize conversion costs and maximize value for customers. According to Rieter, this new order will also strengthen the strategic partnership. The volume of the transaction has not been disclosed.

“This partnership is a win-win for both companies,” says Liu Yifang, Vice Chairman of DIW. “With our vertically integrated manufacturing operations, we are building some of the world’s most advanced spinning operations which will ideally position us for growth in this industry.” He adds that DIW is aiming to become a major player in cotton spinning.

“With its high-performance winding machines, Rieter will help DIW meet its steadily growing demand and requirements for higher operational efficiency,” says Country Managing Director Rieter China, Michael Hubensteiner. The renewed cooperation will generate growth opportunities for both companies “and enable long-term and stable cooperation between Rieter and DIW.” ce/mm
