Wattwil - bäumlin & ernst has launched a new yarn. It combines the feel of cotton with the performance of a synthetic fiber. As a result, the cotton-like polyamide yarn developed by the textiles specialist from the canton of St.Gallen has a natural feel, while also being suitable for use in sportswear.
The yarn manufacturer bäumlin & ernst (beag) based in Wattwil in the canton of St.Gallen has launched an innovative yarn on the market. It has the feel of cotton, yet also fulfils the characteristics of an artificial fiber, further details of which can be found in a press release.
The FeelTheCotton yarn is light, breathable, robust and low-maintenance like a technical fiber. “Following a lot of feedback from the market and further optimizations, we can finally bring our yarn onto the market”, comments Bernd Schäfer, Managing Director at bäumlin & ernst, in the press release. He goes on to explain how the yarn fulfils customer requirements for a natural textile feel in addition to the necessary wearability properties to be used in garments for an active lifestyle.
In addition to textile fibers, bäumlin & ernst also manufactures fabrics that shield against electromagnetic radiation in addition to highly tear-resistant and flame-retardant fibers for use in personal protective equipment. Moreover, the company’s product portfolio also includes yarns for textile signs that are equipped with traceable radio frequency identification (RFID) technology.
