Rieter is expanding its expertise as a repair services provider by opening its first center for mechanical and electronic repairs in the Uzbek capital Tashkent. The Winterthur-based textile machinery manufacturer will operate the center in cooperation with the Italian company Textile Service Solutions. According to a statement, the aim is to repair machines and equipment more quickly. The local presence will also lead to less downtime at the production site.

Rieter operates 25 repair centres worldwide. The company is expanding its maintenance expertise to Uzbekistan for the first time to carry out the “highest quality repairs in the shortest turnaround time, for both spinning and winding machines”, according to Rico Randegger, Head of Rieter’s After Sales Business Group.

The new repair station is fully equipped for all Rieter machines, including spinning and winding, writes the company. It also comprises testing and calibration facilities for high-quality repairs. In addition, the station has a warehouse for “critical parts, such as control units, sensors and drives”. According to the company, certified Rieter repair services engineers “perform both on-site and in-workshop repairs, using original Rieter repair components and spare parts.” ce/heg
